Youth Involvement

Our future depends on the next generation. Through youth programs and outreach, ADAPT helps young people understand substance misuse, its risks, and how to make healthier choices.

ADAPT Club

Whether it’s hosting information booths, creating prevention messaging, or facilitating substance use prevention trainings at local schools, the ADAPT club is passionate about educating the next generation of preventionists. Club members attend prevention conferences across the country to learn the science behind prevention so they can develop evidence-based plans to address substance misuse in their community.

Talk. They Hear You.

By the time they reach their senior year, nearly 70% of teens have tried alcohol, 50% have used an illegal substance, and 20% have misused a prescription drug. These numbers highlight the importance of early, honest conversations. Developed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the underage drinking campaign Talk. They Hear You. equips parents, caregivers, educators, and community members with tools to address substance use and support healthy choices.

Parents have a powerful influence on their children’s decisions, and children are listening. The Talk. They Hear You. toolkit provides parents with comprehensive materials to start meaningful conversations about alcohol and drug use, resulting in established trust, awareness and better decision-making.
